The UK Forestry Jobs Newsletter shares the best curated forestry jobs in the UK, from tree planting to director level.
Did you know the UK imports over 80% of its timber? That has the potential for creating risks for housing, jobs, and economic stability. A new ConFor report, Timber: An Issue of National Security and Economic Resilience, presented in Parliament, compares timber supply to food and energy security.

With global supply chains under pressure, they argue we must produce more timber at home to support construction, infrastructure, and net zero targets.
The campaign has strong support from MPs like Ben Lake, who emphasise homegrown timber's role in rural economies and protection against international shocks. Coming amid fuel cost challenges, it's a timely push for a national timber strategy - something the industry can really get behind.

Aged just 35, he fell into a deep pit trap dug for wild cattle — and was tragically gored to death by an angry bull that tumbled in after him.
